The community has been saying for some time that Berhampore village needs an upgrade. This also came through in feedback we received last year as part of engaging on Newtown Connections.
Developing a safe cycling network, including a direct route from the south coast to the central city through Berhampore shopping area, creates an opportunity to make a village upgrade happen sooner.

The skateboarding bowl in Waitangi Park will be closed from 8am Friday 22 March until 12pm Sunday 24 March. Part of the Barnett Street car park will be closed off from 17-27 March, and the Harbourside Market will be located alongside Te Papa on the waterfront on Sunday 24 March – you can access it from the car park or Taranaki Street entrance.
