Shaving 1.4m long dreads for charity!

Bree from Berhampore

Hey guys, I couldn’t figure out how to post this elsewhere, but my partner and I are doing a fundraiser for the Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome foundation of NZ and are looking for a little help! He will be shaving off his 1.4 metre long dreadlocks on the 15th of March and all proceeds go to charity.

The Ehlers-Danlos Syndromes are a group of 13 genetic connective tissue disorders resulting from a fault in the collagen. As collagen is one of the most abundant proteins in the body and is meant to stick everything together, this syndrome can have widespread and sometimes devastating effects. The blurb in the link explains more

The give a little page link is: givealittle.co.nz...

and the blurb explains everything else!

Thankyou to anyone that donates 🖤

Tell us the story behind your bear

Katie Townshend Reporter from Dominion Post

We're going on a bear hunt! People across the country are popping bears in their windows. But what's the story behind the fuzzy faces? Tell us about your bear - what's their name, where did you get it, how far have they travelled? Post a photo and tell us their story! (Please mark any posts you don't want to see published NFP).

At-Home Fire Safety Checklist

Fire and Emergency from Fire and Emergency New Zealand

With everyone staying home, it’s now more important than ever for everyone to be fire-safe. People can find information on our website - fireandemergency.nz...

We’re heading into winter, and with households self-isolating together, there’ll be more cooking at home, and more use of open fires, heaters, and dryers - all things which can increase fire risk.

New Zealanders can be confident that Fire and Emergency is well-prepared and ready to respond to emergencies as usual during the nationwide self- isolation period.

Please call 111 if you have a fire, we will ask you whether anyone at the address is self-isolating or has a confirmed case of COVID-19. Where this is the case, we already have necessary measures in place to ensure everyone’s safety including protective clothing, gloves, masks, safety glasses and mask.
