International Speech and Evaluation Contests - Thanks, everyone!
Thanks to all the speakers, evaluators, judges and officials who made our International Speech and Evaluation Contests last Wednesday such a success. It was the first time as Contest Chair for yours truly and I couldn't have asked for a more positive experience.
Congratulations once again to our wonderful contestants - with a special mention to Aya and Lisa who will represent Newtown at the Area H4 Contests on Saturday 23 November.

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
