Theft ex Cars

Hamish Knight from Kilbirnie Community Policing Centre

To Residents of the Hataitai and Roseneath Area.

Last weekend a high volume of vehicle break-ins were reported along Waipapa Road, Te Anau Road, Grafton Road and Palliser Road. The person/s involved were targeting whatever they could see or find in the vehicles. Detectives are working to identify the person/s responsibly but are asking for residents help that live along the roads identified above that may have CCTV that capture the street. If you do and able to let the Detectives review the footage please email me in the signature below.

In the meantime Police asks all residence to be vigilant in making sure they remove anything of value from your vehicle. Park off street where possible and to report any suspicion behaviour to Police.

In an emergency (life and property at risk) call 111, if a non-emergency (sometime after the event) call 105.

Regards,

Sgt Hamish KNIGHT

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
