Hello

Another parking "win" for Brooklyn businesses and residents, after so many car parks were removed due to the Brooklyn Bus Hub. WCC were going to designate these two spaces on Jefferson St, Brooklyn as "Residents Parking" only with no public consultation. We understand some locals were pressing for these on the back of other "Residents Only" car parks being removed due to the Cleveland St bus stops.

GBRAI, acting on feedback from Brooklyn businesses & other local residents, successfully got WCC to change this to P30 from Monday to Saturday 8am to 6pm. That way they become usable for clients of Wing on Chan, Jo's Bakery, Khana Kazana, Loundes Electrical & Brooklyn library users.

Our thanks to locals - you know who you are - and to WCC for the compromise.

"We want to make sure as many people as possible see our Air Festival, unfortunately Sunday's weather isn't looking great so if you would like to use your Sunday ticket on Saturday you can.

The Saturday includes a Night Show, so the Saturday ticket is slightly more expensive. Simply pay an additional upgrade at the gate (eftpos or cash) if you would like to swap days.

Movin’ March celebrates the benefits of walking, scooting and biking to school. The month long event is run by Greater Wellington in partnership with local councils and is free for primary schools in the Wellington region.

Walking, cycling and scooting to school have many benefits for tamariki. As well as being a great opportunity for regular exercise in the outdoors, they improve independence, physical and mental health, decision making, risk assessment and road safety skills.

How will you celebrate Movin’ March?
