Wellington Water continues to work on the Omāroro Reservoir Pipelines Project in Mt Cook, installing pipelines to connect the planned Prince of Wales reservoir to the city network and making our water supply more resilient to disaster and disruption.

The Pipelines Project is set for completion in mid-2020 and will affect traffic in the area as new pipelines are installed down Hargreaves Street and then into Wallace Street which is a major arterial road.

While every effort is being made to reduce impact on commuter traffic and disruption, this will cause delays and disruptions, but this is sometimes unavoidable due to the location of the pipes and for health and safety reasons.

Traffic information will be well sign posted. Please take care and follow directions, or use alternative routes avoiding the Mt Cook area.

We are working closely with residents in the area, and pedestrian access won’t be affected.

Apologies for any inconvenience, and thank you for your cooperation in improving the city’s water infrastructure.

It's true that you agreed to a legally binding contract as soon as you drove into the parking lot. Thankfully, New Zealand law protects consumers from the exploitative clauses that corporates love to slip in the fine print.

Under contract law, parking companies can only claim for "the actual and reasonable costs they incurred". Charging $65 for a short overstay in an empty carpark is as far from reasonable as you can get.

Missing cat.... presumably found.

Later on that morning I was walking to work & around 0415, just after passing Kelburn Normal School, I was approached by two large dogs. One was a very tall brown one about the size of an alsation but a bit thinner & taller. This animal circled me as I walked but didn't do much else. The smaller one was a heavily built white pug-type dog which growled & charged at me in a very menacing way. I lashed out, kicked & belted it with my gym bag which kept it at bay but it wasn't until I got to the German bakery that they gave both up. I'll have my iphone at the ready to take some video over the next two mornings.
