Look out for a CCTV robot coming to a pipe near you! š¤
If youāre in Karori, Tawa, Churton Park, Glenside, Grenada, Silverstream, Stokes Valley or Avalon, you may see these little guys at work continuing our inspections of the most critical pipes across our region ā the essential pipes that would have unacceptable impacts on the local community or environment should they fail. These inspections help us to plan repairs and replacements.
While we had largely completed an initial assessment of these assets earlier in the year, we are adding to our knowledge base with further physical inspections. Our crews will be using a number of innovative methods including CCTV robot technology. š·

Poll: Would you participate in local initiatives aimed at stopping plastic from reaching our oceans?
Volunteers will be scouring the foreshore, riverbanks, and islands for rubbish on Saturday the 13th as part of the Clean Up the Hutt event.
This initiative helps stop plastic from reaching our oceans and makes our waterways cleaner and safer for everyone.
We want to know: Should this be rolled out across all coastal cities in Aotearoa? And more importantly⦠would you get involved? š

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to āexuberanceā? š„
In The Postās opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, weāre āallergic to exuberance.ā
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps itās worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Friendly Couple Seeking Shared Accommodation with Local Flatmates
Kia Ora,
Iām a Chinese student set to attend Victoria University from February 2026 to July 2027, and Iām currently seeking shared accommodation for my husband and me around Pipitea campus.
My husband is an introverted IT engineer based in China, who will join me in Wellington starting March 2026. Weāre both quiet, responsible, easygoing people with very regular daily routines, and we absolutely adore animals and children.
Weāre keen to share a home with local flatmates ā this way, we can learn from each other, immerse ourselves in New Zealandās culture, and build genuine connections. Iād also love the chance to get to know you and your kids, and hopefully become good friends!
Thank you for considering us or sharing me with some kind messages.
