Community Planting Day - Saturday, 27 January 2024
Its time to beautify the old St John’s site on the Corner of Karori Road and Campbell Street, to create a vibrant and engaging community space for all to enjoy.
Boston Projects and Foxtail Events are hosting a Community Planting Day on Saturday, 27 January from 10am – 2pm, and the whole of Karori is invited to attend and participate in this fun day out.
Bring your gumboots, trowels, spades, forks and a bunch of energy and enthusiasm to help make our town centre fantastic! A bottle or water, sunhat and sunscreen is super important too!
This grass roots initiative is fully reliant on the support of the Karori community and there are a number of ways that you can contribute to this project. For example, we need more plants (i.e native grasses and bushes, succulents flowering plants, wildflowers, bulbs, herbs, or edible plants). Anything will be considered.
We are also looking for a local talented artist to create a mural and someone to regularly help keep the section tidy with some strimming of the grass.

Big Lions Events coming up!
Karori Lions are going to be really busy next month, with our own local E-Recycling fundraising project at the Karori Community Centre on Saturday, 6 July, from 9:00am to 1:00pm, and then, in the following week, on Friday, 12 July from 12:00pm to 8:pm and Saturday, 13 July from 9:00am to 4:00pm, we'll be joining forces with the Karori Rotary Club for our Annual Joint Book Fair in the Karori Baptist Church Hall. It's NZ Volunteer Week (16-22 June) and we know there are real good sorts in your community.
Often these kind acts and regular volunteering efforts go unnoticed but let's put a stop to that.
