'Stop' Bump vs speed hump

Sara from Island Bay

Hi neighbours and beyond

I'm all for speed humps and pedestrian crossings especially near schools.
Buttt... I'm really struggling with the new combined crossing/bump on Britomart Street by Berhampore school. It is so harsh that I'm nearly at a stand still to get over it and even then it's still harsh on my car. I've nearly stalled and get weird looks from kids doing the patrol as they wave me through.
Does anyone else have similar thoughts about it?
I would like to propose to the council that they smooth the harsh edges but they will laugh at me if I'm the only one.
Looking forward to your thoughts
