Marsden students doing good

Inge Doig from Samuel Marsden Collegiate School

Maya (Year 12) has been volunteering her time with the Be Collective Wellington Office. Be Collective is a platform that makes volunteering easy, connecting people, businesses and groups to causes they care about. Maya is pictured with Community Development Manager, Lauren Parsons.

Marsden's Year 8 students have also completed over 300 hours of service in the community as part of their William Pike Service Day. They got busy in the kitchen and dropped off baking to various charities, helped out at Wellington Primary schools from Ngaio to Mirimar and picked up beach rubbish. Well done girls!

Poll: Do you support the rules to build new homes?

Nicholas Boyack Reporter from Community News

Tens of thousands of new homes could be possible in Wellington after a major bipartisan housing announcement from Labour and National.
A new bill supported by both major parties strips red tape from the building process in an effort to accelerate medium-density housing.
The rule change will allow people to build up to three homes of three storeys on most sites in Wellington without any need for resource consent from August 2022.
Tell us what you think and if you do not want your comments used put NFP.

Share a recipe!

The Team from Neighbours Day Aotearoa

Kia ora Lambton Ward, Neighbours Day Aotearoa 2022 will be encouraging people to connect through kai. This could be sharing a cuppa, fresh produce, a recipe or hosting a picnic or BBQ.

We thought we would kick things off now by encouraging people to share a favourite recipe.

This could be a whānau favourite, your aunty’s special chutney, a secret (or potentially not!) curry dish, or your most-loved cake.

We’ll then share your recipe throughout the land for people to try, share, and enjoy within their communities.

Either email your recipe to kiaora@neighboursday.org.nz or submit it here - www.neighboursday.org.nz...
