Rita from Mindfulness NZ will give a short background to mindfulness and in order to understand the world we need to understand ourselves, and learning to accept what is.
And a basic explanation of how the brain engages when practicing mindfulness attention practices.
Evidence-based research into mindfulness.
Breath physiology- how focusing on the breath leads to self-calming and increased self-awareness.
Emotional awareness and self-acceptance.
Self- Investigation- turning the spotlight on your deepest fears and anxieties
We will also do the basic practices; breathing, listening and body scan.
