The Committee and members of REBUS WANGANUI invite YOU to join us at our October Gathering.

Vernon Neighbourly Lead from Whanganui

We hold a monthly meeting for retired, or those who consider themselves semi- retired persons, of all callings in our community who would appreciate an opportunity to gain more social contacts by meeting with others having similar interests or in similar circumstances.
Once Wanganui's original Probus Club, the name change to REBUS arose because the Australians franchised the name so large numbers of we Kiwi’s renamed our clubs as "REBUS,” and continued as before.

Our next meeting is at 10 am Tuesday 6 October in the Blind Foundation Building, 102 Peat Street Wanganui

A light morning tea is followed by some club business, a club speaker and then a guest speaker.
Following the speakers, those wishing attend to, then will gather for luncheon at Barracks Restaurant, (The Old RSA Building) ST Hill Street.

Should you be unable to attend our monthly meeting on 6 October, then please consider joining with us for our monthly coffee morning which is in “Parnells” on the corner of Victoria and Liverpool Streets, . Wednesday 21 October at 10 am.

In addition to the monthly gatherings regular social outings are arranged, with the next being a visit and tour of U.C.O.L. during Heritage Month.

Past examples of these outings may be viewed in copies of the Club’s Newsletters with more information about REBUS Wanganui including details of our very reasonable membership fees by clicking on the BLUE "Read More" links below.

Please feel free to join us, you would be most welcome.

Why 2021 will be the year of the long weekend

The Team Reporter from Stuff

Hey neighbours,

Good news – 2021 is set to be the year of the long weekend.

Five out of 10 public holidays will be Mondayised (or Tuesdayised in one case) next year, which means if you work a standard Monday to Friday week, you can look forward to some extended breaks.

In fact, once you’ve tacked on the weekends, you’ll end up getting a whopping 25 days off out of those 10 stat days, plus your region’s anniversary day.
