Is there a Butcher still slicing bacon in Wanganui?

The last batch of Bacon sliced, vacuum packed by the producer and marketed by Countdown was so thin that any tendency for it to stick to the pan when cooking caused it to tear which resulted in the entire serving appearing on the plate as shredded bacon

In the "good old days," when I was younger, easy on the eye, had energy and hair, I could ask the seller to slice for me, 10 slices of bacon , or many other types of meat, tongue, corned beef, beef etc with their slicer set on 5 or whatever number my fancy desired.
Nowadays I can not find a single purveyer of bacon in Wanganui who actually slices bacon. Countdown, New World, Pak n Save, all have theirs arriving either presliced and in bulk for placement in the Deli cabinet or presliced and vacuum packed for self selection from the chillers. The Mad butcher didn't even have bacon in stock !
Labour saving no doubt but a killer for customer choice.

SO, back to the question, is there a retailer selling bacon sliced to a thickness requested by the customer?

Who wouldn’t want to show up to play in flash shoes like these? Customise a fresh pair of footwear or fancy up some old favourites – while covering up scuff marks – with nothing more than a few Resene testpots, artist’s brushes and a bit of good quality masking tape.

If your kids are little, you can help mask off any of the harder parts – such as around the soles – that you want to keep paint off of and remove laces, if there are any. You can even use this idea to makeover adult shoes that never get worn because the colour doesn’t go with anything.

Make the most of this weekend with this easy step by step project idea from Resene.

Modifications:
* Engine modified with pod filter for better air flow
* Pedals modified
* Custom twin exhaust from half way back from the car - gives the car a lovely purr
* Compressed springs on the struts/suspensions - the car is lowered and has a slight camber
* Tinted windows

Sporting:
* Touched up paint job
* Current WOF until end February
* Current rego until March
* Serviced in the last 6 months
* Wheel alignment done in the last 6 months
* About $70-$80 to fill up completely 91
* Done under 142,000kms - low!
* Airbags for passenger and driver
* Central locking remote with immobiliser and alarm
* Adjustable steering wheel and seats
* Pioneer audio system with CD, Bluetooth, and AUX
* HEAPS of boot space
* Lots of character and super comfortable
* Two automatic modes for driving ease
* Blind spot mirrors, can adjust automatically

Only problems with this car are:
* The front left wheel, it's currently running on the space saver. It's a 15" wheel and all the other ones are 16". The one in the boot is 16" but needs a new tyre and put back on the wheel. This may be fixed by the time the car is sold.
* And one of the front left wheel nuts has broken off when my ex was replacing the tyre so that needs replacing. Any mechanic could do that in under 10-15min.
* There are a few standard bumps and scratches that I’ve painted over (car comes with a bottle of paint) see pictures for details.

Message me for a test drive today as this car won’t be in the North Island long. I’ll be driving it down to Dunedin soon.

Hi neighbours! At Cooper's Pet Kitchen our food is free of cheap fillers like grains, corn, soy & wheat... but what does that really mean?

It means there’s more protein-packed nutrition in every bite. We’re big believers in quality over quantity so while our food may be a little more expensive than some, its nutrient density makes for smaller portions with more readily absorbable nutrients.

Get more bang for your dog’s bite with 50% OFF your first order with code NEIGHBOURLY.

This also means a decrease in what comes out the other end... less 'picking up' what they’re 'putting down' at the dog park if you catch our drift.
