Historians will be turning off the lights in the Southland Museum and Art Gallery and leading a torch light tour on Thursday, March 9, as part of Heritage Month celebrations.
Southland Museum and Art Gallery operations co-ordinator Hayley Browne said the tour would be magical.
The idea, inspired by the movie Night at the Museum, allowed people to see the museum in a different light.

When John Willis went on a youth exchange programme to the United States in the 1960s, he never dreamed it would result in a friendship that would last 50 years.
But that's exactly what happened, and it was with much excitement that he welcomed his host brother Paul Boldosser and wife Shirley, from Pennsylvania to his home in Winton recently.
It was 1966 when they first met, when Willis spent a year with the Boldosser family on their beef and cattle farm, attending the local high school and adjusting to life in the US.

Venture Southland has joined forces with DairyNZ and Primary ITO to survey the province's migrant population to gather information on how immigration policy changes are affecting them.
Last week about 3300 survey forms were sent to 1100 Southland farms and Venture Southland regional labour market co-ordinator Mike Malone said it was important to gain an insight into this serious issue.
