Spoiling trick or treat

Judith from Totara Park

To the young young teens who chose to steal everything from our unattended candy stand and upturn our (albeit small) Halloween display - shame on you. Yes, I was taking a risk leaving it unattended but we were out trick or treating ourselves and didn’t want anyone who came to our house to miss out. Hubby heard the noise and saw what you’d done as you hot-tailed it down the driveway. It’s deeply affected both my boys - one of whom is autistic and is increasingly of the opinion that teenagers are ‘mean’. My elder son, who is 10, was the most upset and you ruined his whole evening. What a memory to leave 2 young kids. I hope your teeth rot.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
