Blue Mountains Campus Jittery Start
For a couple of months now, the commercial/retail Blue Mountains Campus owners/developers have stated that stage one of the campus - The Buddle Buildings - has been completed whereas right now yet to be up and running in the two storey part of the Buddle Buildings are the cafe, and possible gym and showers.
The push-ahead with this promotion is because that over the past two years the only named tenants - KiwiRail and MBIE - are still the only two as we speak and the latter is not due to move in to the Wallaceville site until next month.
So attracting other tenants has been a huge issue. And the starting of the other three-four stages within the planning laid out in the campus is dependent on tenants coming forward. Already the owners have submitted to the Upper Hutt City Council permission to partially at least make the stage two refurbishment of the historic Hopkirk Building and Gilruth Building, residential apartments.
