Prescription

Ralph from Pinehaven

Had to have a laugh this morning, ZB interviewed the head of NZ College of GP's about the cost of prescriptions at $5.00 per script for the first 20 then being free for the rest of the year, and how some people were choosing which medicines they would pay for, due to money matters. He was not happy with this as they were choosing which medicines they were going to purchase. But the laugh was, he did not mention, that GP's were charging $21. per script (my medical centre) and for that all he does is sign off on a computer generated form. So in my case, for the family, is $40.00 for the script plus $42.00 for the GP signature total $82.00 for the first 20 and then they are free, but no, the GP's still charge $42.00 per three months. Total annual fees charged by GP $168.00, plus script $100.00. That's $268.00. At least with the script you get something in your hand for your money. Think about it.
