Rates rise on the cards
Tauranga will be facing some hefty rate increases over the next ten years adding hundreds to the yearly bill.
Figures show a 13.6 per cent rate increase in 2018/19, 7 per cent in 19/20 and a 10.7 per cent increase in 20/21.
A household paying $2500 in rates per year will see that figure rise to $3555 ($68 per week) in three year's time and $4448 ($85 per week) in ten year's time.
Do you think the rate rises are too high, or does Tauranga need to splash some cash to future proof the city?
