New Pregnancy and Parenting Service Hub for Whakatane.
Hi neighbours - Whakatane Hospital is getting a new Pregnancy and Parenting Service Hub, one of two new hubs launched with $7 million of Government funding.
Health Minister Dr David Clark says he expects up to 100 families will benefit from the new service. He says the new pregnancy and parenting service will aim to address issues such as mental health, drug and alcohol addictions and family violence.
Is this an important investment for Whakatane? Should funding be allocated elsewhere? If so, where?

This is what greeted workers at Brookfield Sallies yesterday morning. All of it looks like it should have gone straight to the tip, which is what the Sallies will now have to pay to do. Surely whoever does this has no conscience. The Sallies do an amazing job of helping people in times of need and they don't need to be spending any money they receive on doing your dirty work, especially at this time of year.
