Hi Neighbours and residents of Tauranga.
It’s hard to believe that Aquinas College which is on the main Pyes Pa road, does not have a lowered speed limit or a pedestrian crossing for the students or residents in the area.
Our students have set up a petition to get the Council to listen to our concerns in the name of keeping students and residents safe when crossing this stretch of road. 60-80 km/h is way too fast. It’s ridiculous that this is even needing to be proposed.
Please sign the petition and vote for change.

Residents have reported sightings of multiple dogs on the beach with no owners in sight and one person walking on the beach has reported the dogs acting in a threatening manner. Council is increasing early morning monitoring every day for the next two weeks as well as random monitoring at other times of the day. Please call Council if you see any dogs unattended on the beach – if possible send us a photo. Better still if you have any idea who these dogs belong to – let us know – all information will be treated in confidence. We want to catch these dogs and find their owners before any incident occurs. Call our customer services line immediately on 07 571 8008 – we are on call all hours of the day or email us at: Customer.Service@westernbay.govt.nz.
