Congratulations to PM Jacinda and partner Clarke. I would like to pay tribute, however, to all parents who sacrificed a career to raise children and further their spouse's career.

I have spoken to several neighbors recently who have concerns over the amount of accidents happening on this road as do we. Majority of which seem to be outside our house. Weather, condition of the road and speed all contribute to these accidents. The recommended 55k sign is up there for a reason and still some people don't take any notice. I spoke to council last year much to my surprise which actually got them to send someone out to check the road and do simple repairs which personally i feel have just contributed with slick slippery patches on the road, it needs more than patching. They told me unless there is certain amount of fatals on this road there wasn't much they could do. I don't believe that for a second. My advice, the more people who ring and complain to at least put up signs for 'High Crash Area' or 'arrows' or something else then we will continue to see these accidents. We don't want to see any fatalities here just so council will do something about it and even then there are no guarantees. Please everyone be cautious on this road. Cheers Kathie Lee
