The PICKERS
✨ Guava Jelly ✨
As you know, I love experimenting with new ways to repurpose the beautiful fresh produce that’s generously donated to us — and this time, I had bags of fragrant guavas to play with!
After a wash, I simmered them gently with water, sugar, lemon juice, and orange juice. I’d never cooked with guavas before, and I was blown away by the rich, floral aroma that filled the kitchen.
The flavour was bold — really bold! So I decided to make a jelly for cheese platters. I first tried it with a mild cheese, but the jelly totally overpowered it. I was surprised by the flavour punch, so next up: blue cheese! 🧀 If that doesn’t work, I might be stumped.
If you have any ideas or favourite guava pairings, I’d love to hear them! 💬
