Accunect is based on the idea that the body can heal, and that to really activate healing in the body you have to find the root cause. It’s not enough to treat the physical body – you have to balance the nervous system in order to help how the body is being managed. And the nervous system is controlled by our mental state. For true healing – rather than just addressing symptoms temporarily – you have to address all levels: body, mind, and spirit.

Accunect is based on finding your unique path back to health using the Accunect Health Map – a kind of road map of all the physical, emotional, energetic, and spiritual aspects of the body. We help find the quickest path back to vibrant health for each individual. Thousands of people from all walks of life have studied Accunect worldwide. Parents can use Accunect for family wellness care, and health professional from massage therapists to medical doctors use Accunect to get to the deeper roots of disease. It’s very easy to learn, very quick and non-invasive to practice, and the results are both gentle and profound for both physical and mental/emotional/spiritual issues.

Don is an acupuncture physician and shiatsu therapist – he’s been studying Chinese medicine for over thirty years and is the co-founder of the Accunect healing system. His Hawaiian nickname is Ka’imiloa, which means seeker of truth and his students call him Dr Ka’imi. He now lives in London with his wife and co-founder Sarah Simonis and their son. In addition to shiatsu and acupuncture, Dr Ka’imi has studied many other modalities including Chinese herbs, cranial-sacral therapy and other manual therapies, applied kinesiology, Neurolink, and is a former senior instructor for the BodyTalk system.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
