Hedgehogs are classed as pests by DOC, but at a talk at Orewa Library Hedgehog Rescue New Zealand encouraged their release into the wild, and NZ Police have praised its officers recently for doing the same and spread the message around social media. Do you think with them eating NZ native species that hedgehogs should be released into the wild?

It's a delightful book with lovely illustrations by Julianne Edwards. The author, Jenny Roberts, re-tells some memorable events involving donkeys. Suitalbe for 3 to 7 yr olds it's a must buy.
