Sandspit Yacht Club Family Christmas Get-Together

Debbie from Mahurangi North

From 4pm-8pm, on Sunday 11th December, all Sandspit Yacht Club members are warmly invited to an afternoon picnic on the lawns outside the Algies Bay Clubrooms to celebrate Christmas together.

It's a BYO so we ask everyone to bring along their own special Christmas nibbles together with chairs and small tables. Much like a group picnic. A range of drinks will be available and providing the sun is out, it should be a good afternoon/evening of relaxed socialising. This is a great opportunity for new members to meet others. Some of you may wish to swim, go sailing, wakeboarding kayaking off the beach - if so, just bring your gear along and enjoy the evening with us. With a 5.30pm high tide, it should be very pleasant indeed. Although there is no need to register with this one, if you have any suggestions/queries or would like to help with organising, please Glenys on 0274 805051 or email glenysmilne@yahoo.co.nz.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
