Who else has been glued to their TV cheering on the Kiwis vying for the return of the elusive America's Cup to New Zealand shores?
It's so exciting - I'm absolutely loving it - so much so - those early mornings to catch the racing are not fazing me at all.
As I'm writing this, Team New Zealand has won four from four - so there's a real feeling of optimism in the Kaio family.
Yep, it's time to pull the red socks out of the sock drawer.
But I'm also reminding myself of 2013 - and that truly devastating but remarkable 8-1 comeback by Jimmy Spithill's Oracle team.
That certainly took me a while to get over.
So, while I'm definitely not counting my chickens yet, I'll still be wearing my red socks in my slippers for those early mornings cheering at the TV next week.
Come on Team New Zealand - we've got this!

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝
In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”
We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?
Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
