Are you getting it right at roundabouts?
It’s simple when you know what to do.
Always:
• slow down and be prepared to give way
• be in the correct lane for where you want to go
• give way to all vehicles that will cross your path from the right as you enter the roundabout
• indicate correctly as you enter and leave the roundabout (as shown below).
In the last year 30% of all crashes in Porirua City happened at intersections:
• 18 crashes at Kenepuru/Titahi Bay roundabout
• 17 crashes at Paremata roundabout.
Please stay alert at intersections and take another look before you proceed.

Some Choice News!
Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?
Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
