Spring Horticultural Show
Timaru Horticultural Spring Show - Caroline Bay Hall, Saturday 15th 2 to 5 pm and Sunday 16th 11 to 4 pm. Entries invited now for: Daffodils, Cut Flowers, Container Plants, Orchids, Alpine and Rock Garden Plants, Bonsai and Floral Art. All classes catered for plus a Braggers Corner. No charge or limit for entries. Kids Craft Corner on Sunday 1 - 3pm. Entries close Thursday 13th September at 1 pm with the Secretary - Di Middlemiss Ph: 684 7406

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
