This is all highly commendable but there is no cause for further delay in mapping coastal flooding hazard areas. The Govt required this work be done in 2010. Identify the hazards– then talk to the public. This is what most other coastal Councils are doing.

Needless to say, things didn't quite work out that way. But the luxurious retreat he's built, surrounded by native bush in the Coromandel, does evoke the spirit of a particularly sleek Department of Conservation hut.
