The recent rain and cooler weather has led to a decrease in toxic algae levels. Waikanae River now has no warnings with no toxic algae detected in recent sampling. The Otaki River levels have dropped from a "red" to "amber" level - remember this means caution is still needed when exercising dogs in these areas, as it can be deadly for dogs if eaten.
