The current seawall at Paekākāriki was built in the 1970s, to last 25 years. Now 38-years-old, the wall failed in a 2016 storm surge and again during Cyclone Gita in 2018.
Building a permanent, concrete wall was originally costed at $10.9 million in 2016, but now is expected to cost $27 million, the consultation document for the council’s Long Term Plan has revealed.
Can the council afford it?

Come along and have a look at my little gym/studio situated at 4 Koromiko Rd, Waikanae. This is where I take One on One Personal Training, small circuit classes and Yin Yoga. Right at this moment there are a few spaces available in my timetable that need filling. Don't dilly dally as this doesn't happen very often.

I am seeking a working laser colour printer for a community counselling centre in Levin, low cost or free. Our old OKI 451w scanner photocopier printer has died and we need a printer/ photocopier to do the admin work. ( We find ink printers too expensive to run and laser ones tend to do a better smudge-free water resistant job.) If you know of anyone upgrading or down sizing and wants to dispose of a colour laser printer I'd love to hear from you. Kind regards and thank you, Peter
