New Plymouth community: increased presence of Police on Coronation Avenue

The Team from Manawatu, Taranaki, Whanganui-Ruapehu Police

Members of the New Plymouth community may notice an increased presence of Police on Coronation Avenue on Thursday 3 July.

During this time, people may see Police in tactical uniforms carrying training firearms, and there may also be some noise.

Police would like to reassure the public that there is no cause for concern and that exercises like this are a vital component of policing that enables staff to be best placed to keep our communities safe.

These types of exercises could not happen without the support of our local community, and we want to thank the public for their support and cooperation.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
