Whakaari / White Island
Forgive me if this post duplicates, but now we must double our efforts.
There are those, myself amongst them, too ready to point fingers of blame at the government over efforts done or not done on this tragedy.
There are stories of crime and safety reviews, hence my appeal to this forum. Let us move forward and express gratitude to the heroes, the civilian helicopter pilots who literally flew into the gates of hell to rescue
the injured. True courage is being afraid, but doing what is right for the lives of others. Please, if you agree, then contact your member of parliament and ask that one or all four of these pilots be awarded the George Cross. None are more deserving.
Lest we forget...
On this ANZAC Day, let's take a moment to remember and honor the brave men and women who have served and continue to serve our country.
Tell us who are you honouring today. Whether it's a story from the battlefield or a memory of a family member who fought in the war, we'd love you to share your stories below.
Stolen Pot plants
Last week on my return from a few days away a green 33cm shrub tub of petunias was missing from the front of my garage,
Today a 39cm terracotta tub of orange pansies and a 33cm shrub of pansies was mmissing from alongise my driveway in Fairs Road.
I have reported these losses to the police.
Should anyone notice that neighbours suddenly have pots or tubs of flowers, either call the police or ask them to return them. They know where they got them.
