Food waste trial an eye-opening environmental success
Hi neighbours,
A five-month food-scraps collection trial run by Palmerston North City Council has saved 16,010 kilograms of food from going to the landfill.
It was instead turned to compost at the Awapuni Resource Recovery Park.
Central Government has announced that all councils will have to set up a food waste collection service by 2030.
Do you already separate your food scraps for compost, or does it go in the trash or down the insinkerator?
