Wings over Wairarapa Air Festival 2019 tickets are flying out the door. Ticket sales are up 35% compared to the same time last Festival. There have been significant ticket sales from the UK, North America and Australia.
Saturday Corporate Tables and Gold Passes have all sold out months in advance and there are limited hospitality options remaining for Sunday 24 February.
Wings General Manager, Jenny Gasson puts the huge increase in ticket sales down to a number of things.
“The word is getting out about our new initiatives for 2019; people are getting excited and want to experience these for themselves.”
“In 2019 we’re showcasing interactive and engaging displays, demonstrations and hands-on activities. We are offering workshops in rocketry, digital fabrication and coding, circuitry workshops, and people will be able to talk to experts with a range of aviation experience such as engineers, pilots and technicians.”
“We think that many people who’ve been before have realised that this show is going to be a completely new experience, and our new look Air Festival is attracting new audiences, our ticket sales clearly show this.”

A severe thunderstorm watch is in place for the following areas: Taumarunui, Taupo, Hawkes Bay, Taihape, Wanganui, Manawatu, and Tararua.

There is the potential that some of these thunderstorms become SEVERE bringing localised downpours with intensities of 25 to 40mm per hour. Rainfall of this intensity can cause surface and/or flash flooding, especially about low-lying areas such as streams, rivers or narrow valleys, and may also lead to slips. Driving conditions will also be hazardous with surface flooding and poor visibility in heavy rain.

Stay safe neighbours and keep updated here.
