Is there a farmer in Pirongia who has a tractor and can assist us in moving a few bucket loads of blue stone into a massive puddle hole on our driveway. The contractors came down the drive after heavy rain and made the corner of our gravel drive so low that it fills with water and has nowhere to drain even after a week of sun. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
