You may also have read testimonials of people who have treated the infection with all sorts of homeopathic remedies and have experienced a virtually instant cure. In both those cases it is wrong. The facts of the matter are that a fungal nail infection is not life threatening however it is an infection and left untreated will, over time, get worse and worse until the nails are thick, brittle, crumbly and look absolutely disgusting.
As for the virtually instant cure, there is nothing that repairs the damage caused by the fungal infection, what happens is that, as the nail grows, the new, clear growth will gradually push deformed and infected nail out. Since toenails typically grow at round 1mm per month it takes some months for whole nail to become clear.
So, there you go, a couple of myths debunked.
For professional care from the specialists come to us – the Laser Nail Clinic where all our clinicians are fully trained medics and we use “the state of the art” PinPointe laser machine which was developed in the States specifically for the treatment of nail fungal infections.
