Outdoor performance by North Shore Concert Band

David Neighbourly Lead from Orewa

The North Shore Concert Band gave a free concert on the Browns Bay Esplanade last Sunday. On a beautifully, warm summer day, an appreciative audience was treated to a wide range of music including pieces such as, Instant Concert, Sinatra, Teddy Bears Picnic, Chattanooga Choo Choo, Puttin' on the Ritz and much more. The band is composed of players ranging from high school age to musicians in their eighties and rehearses on Tuesday evenings at 7. 30 pm in the auditorium at Birkenhead College. The band is always on the lookout for new members and currently has a tuba looking for someone to play it.
