The band ran through a programme of Christmas music for an appreciative audience of friends and family members of the players. Rehearsals will begin again on Jan. 29th. 2019 at the Birkdale College auditorium at 7. 30 pm. The band is always on the lookout for new members so if you play an instrument such as flute,trumpet,horn,sax, clarinet and can read music and feel like having a go at playing in a band, North Shore Concert Band would be most pleased to see you. No invitation needed. Just roll up to a rehearsal and have a listen or join in to see if this is for you. The band has a tuba and is looking for someone to play it. Although many people were for the idea, some parents felt "blindsided" that they weren't forewarned that Hana Kōkō would be stepping in for Santa Claus. The parade's organisers have since apologised.
