Upgrading the Paeroa Wastewater Treatment Plant will help cover population growth, withstand weather events like flooding, and meet strict water treatment requirements, Hauraki District Council says.
The Paeroa project is part of a planned $100 million investment in wastewater treatment systems in the Hauraki area over the next decade.

Two people have been injured in a crash in the Hauraki District, and part of the road is closed.
The two-vehicle crash on SH2, near George Street in Waihī, happened about 10.45am on Friday.
