Christmas - A time for Giving

Kevin Hartfield from St Vincent de Paul New Plymouth

Hi, Kevin again from St Vincent de Paul. Chrissy is a good time of the year to look around home at what you do not need/want anymore. We will pick up clean W/M to Fridge/freezers, to tables and chairs, to beds and linen, Kitchen items, even knives forks and spoons etc. Due to "difficult times" alot of families in New Plymouth do not have these item. Are you able to assist?
We pick up and deliver free of charge to anyone referred to us from one of over 20 social agencies in New Plymouth. Our Op Shop in Fitzroys also takes quality small items like clothing, books nick-nacks etc, to sell to support our work. Ph Kevin (027) 251-9998 or email: kevinvincentdepaul1@gmail.com

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
