In fact it … View moreCalendula infused oil is simple to make and is a great addition to the home medicine kit. It has antifungal, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antibacterial properties; making it useful for healing wounds, soothing eczema, relieving sunburn, dry skin, and rashes, including nappy rash. In fact it can be used for any irritated skin condition.
To make Calendula Oil place dried calendula petals in a glass jar. Cover them with a carrier oil of choice eg Sweet almond, Olive, Avocado, Apricot, Jojoba, etc. Put a lid on the jar and place in a sunny spot. Shake the jar every day or so. After about a month, strain off the oil and store ready for use.
If you prefer using a healing salve rather than an oil then put 1/3 cup of beeswax into a heavy based pot and heat on the lowest possible temperature until melted. Whisk in 1 1/4 cups of your infused calendula oil. If you would like to add a fragrance then add 10-20 drops of an essential oil of choice. Poor into jars, cool for a day, then cap and store ready for use.

The team has experience in animal disaster management, international humanitarian aid, veterinary medicine, disaster victim identification, paramedicine, incident management, animal control, wildland firefighting and technical animal rescue.
Animal Evac is asking for donations to support their work on the ground in Australia and in responding to future emergencies. They are extremely grateful to the organisations and individuals who have already supported this deployment and helped make it possible.
