Hi neighbours, a sad morning for those in Kensington. A child has died after being hit with a truck on Kamo Rd. Road closures have caused delays in the surrounding areas, including SH1 through Whangārei. A controlled pedestrian crossing is currently being built near the crash site.
NZTA priorities mean four Whangārei projects will not go ahead, including two intersection improvements to help access to the under-construction Hundertwasser Art Centre. What do you think? (Please put NFP if your comments are not for publication)

Ministry of Transport data for 2016, the most recent available on its website, makes for sobering reading – 328 deaths from 286 fatal road crashes, or 0.9 deaths for every 10,000 vehicles.
