The media are thriving on dramatic headlines about the property market dipping and slowing down. However, this normally happens in the winter months and it is an election year which also means that activity does slow in the months coming up to September as we wait to see who will be our PM.
If you are thinking of selling do remember that regardless of what is happening in the market or the economy, people’s circumstances change daily. People are still moving due to a new job, wanting to be near relatives or a particular school which keeps the market ticking along.
It is worth noting that recent sales have proven that sellers who are in touch with the market and have realistic expectations get results. As real estate agents, we are working harder than ever on behalf of our vendors, but that is our job and the Harcourts promise to our clients. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

It's a delightful book with lovely illustrations by Julianne Edwards. The author, Jenny Roberts, re-tells some memorable events involving donkeys. Suitalbe for 3 to 7 yr olds it's a must buy.
