A working smoke alarms give people an early alert to fire in their home, and that early alert gives you and your family the best chance of escaping alive.
The Mapua Fire and Emergency’s team goals is to ensure as many as possible households have and check their smoke alarms at least every 6 months by pushing the button. The Mapua fire brigades safety campaign is to remind all households that now is the time to test or install an alarm.
This Daylight Saving message is clear – simply “press the button to check”. “when you sleep, you lose your sense of smell” We hope this will reinforce a reason why you need working smoke alarms.
If you know someone who needs a working smoke alarm them contact the Mapua station and we will assist. We would like to work towards every home in Mapua having at least one working smoke alarm and maybe more depending on the size of your home. Don’t let the cost be an issue call 035402781.
