Night works at Woburn Station

Suzanne from Waiwhetu

Hello all,
Are any of you like me and absolutely over the ongoing night works and 'rail upgrade' being based at Woburn Station?
We received 2 letters at the beginning of the year apologising for the upcoming noise and disruption, stating the works would be completed within weeks. It's now nearly 7 months later and we are still being kept awake at night by the ongoing night works. Occasionally the machinery is so loud the house has reverberated and everyone has been kept awake well past midnight, night after night.
I feel its simply unacceptable for this to continue on showing such disregard and disrespect for the local community in which the stations are based.
I've written to Transmetro to voice my concerns and if you are like me and sick of being sleep deprived I urge you to do the same. You can follow the link below.
Sadly I believe that our silence in this matter has been seen as acceptance, but even the most neighbourly of neighbours have a limit!

Edit...just had a call from Metlink to say that Kiwirail is responsible for the works and to contact them instead.

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
