Unity in the Community

Christene from Waiwhetu

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas time and New Year.
The sun has been shining which has been fantastic.
I hope your gardens are all standing up to this sunshine.

Like flowers, we as people require love a caring
Check on family and friends, see how they are doing
Give them a hug
Ask how they are doing
If you have an elderly neighbour ask how you can help
Give them a ride to the shops, or offer to buy their groceries
Help with the gardening
mow the lawns

Love and connection is so important
Keep FEAR at bay
Love is more important

How can you help
How can you throw FEAR out the window
Unify and care for your fellow neighbours, friends and family

When in a state of fear the brain shuts down
We become afraid to reach out
To help

Tell FEAR to go away
Unity in the Community is more important
CHOOSE LOVE

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.
