WAINUIOMATA HILL SLIP UPDATE
Please be advised that we will be keeping one lane on Wainuiomata Road on the outgoing side of the Wainuiomata Hill closed until further notice.
Safety is at the heart of this decision, and even though today’s slip has been cleared, there is a chance that further material may fall onto the road. We are working on restoring access to both lanes as soon as possible.
We appreciate the efforts of our staff and contractors who have worked through the weekend and today to achieve this result. We also acknowledge the community’s patience this morning with the delays caused this morning travelling out of Wainuiomata.

Speed limits around NaeNae
Hi Neighbors, Just a heads up, I have just received a $170 fine for driving at 50km on Rata Street Naenae on a SUNDAY Morning. I wrote to NZTA pointing out and sending in a photo of sign stating that it was 30km on school days between those hours, but they said that the whole of Rata Street and some surrounding streets are 30km 24/7 and have been for over a year. Did I miss this been advised by council? Always good to be informed. Merry Christmas to all
