Are you passionate about recycling and all things sustainable? Would you like to be more active but not sure how? The Upper Hutt Repair Café Trust needs all kinds of volunteers, including Board members. Do you have a financial background? Could you be their next Treasurer?

They are a small but passionate organisation working towards improving repair education and reducing goods going to the landfill. The Treasurer needs to have accounting/financial experience to provide oversight and governance, approve payments and ensure they maintain robust and efficient processes for managing the finances. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
