Lots of native bush on my property, only 3 houses down from Sweetacres, never used to be Sweetaceares (only farmland). Literally have had colonies of cats. Named the original 'Ma Kettle'. Because she had liitters upon litters. I was very uneducated, thought it was cute a cat having kittens. But once it got to 23-33 felines, it was ridiculous. Got the SPCA involved. But also an equal amount of domestic cats strayin onto my property. Did go door knocking , never found owners, so got SPCA to pick them up. If I knew who they belonged to I would've returned them. Would never want that to happen to me. So if we could recognise cats (or any other pets) we could notify each other. So have tried creating a FB page. Only have an IPhone. So have created a FB page ' Belmont Pets'. I hope it works out. It distresses me pets lost and no-one knowing who they belong to.

Hungry, wet, cold and stressed is no way to start the school day (if it doesn’t stop them from getting to school) but for over 295,000 Kiwi children living in hardship that is the reality. This can impact their educational growth and lead to a lifelong pattern of underachievement. There is a way to break this cycle; by providing simple things like food, shoes, socks and raincoats, so kids can arrive at school ready and able to learn. KidsCan's aim is to prevent children in hardship from becoming adults in hardship by giving them the start in life they deserve.

Halloween is creeping up! Our recent Halloween Survey has revealed what New Zealanders REALLY think of Halloween. Did you know that only 1 in 10 households give out healthy snacks to trick or treaters, or that our favourite thing to dress up as is a ‘witch’?

We found out that some participants have some pretty wacky costume ideas like; ‘Donald Trump', ‘an inflatable flamingo’ a ‘popcorn vendor’ and ‘grumpy grannies’. Comment below with what you'll be dressing up as this year!
